From day one of this twin journey I have had something in common with :
I have paparazzi.
My twins attract attention constantly. If you have twins, especially same sex twins, that you dress alike , you know what I'm talking about.
I've had to learn to field comments, even a picture once!!!!, while smiling politely and giving the vibe of back-the-hell-off-my-children-with-your-germy-hands.
I am definitely not a germ freak, but it was my main concern when they were like smaller than a loaf of bread and had a premature immune system.
Now, I can tolerate the attention a bit more. Its just awkward and a little inconvenient. It comes in a few forms these days.
1.
2.
3.
Translation: 1. Old people whispering, 2. Old people pointing, 3. Old people trying to hold them.
It's harmless really, and babies make people happy. I get that. But, I don't always want to stop and talk to people though. I have places to be, and I'm fairly certain that people would talk to me and ask me questions for 25 minutes. Selfish? Maybe a little...
I've had some very bizarre questions (as all twin moms do). My favorites, for your enjoyment:
1. Did you give birth to both of them? (duh. smile.)
2. Which one is the evil twin? (babies are not evil, but we all have our days. grin.)
3. Do you like them both? (seriously? really?)
4. Is the boy the smarter one? (I just walked away from that one)
Anyway, I assume paparazzi will continue until I stop dressing them alike. Which I plan to not do until they can pick their own clothes or even better, fold their own laundry.
Maybe I be like Kate and get them a bodyguard, or two. Nah, I'll just get the haircut instead.
